Research
Research takes many forms when investigating the paranormal. It's more than hanging out in local graveyard with your friends and a camera waiting for something to happen but instead end up coming home full of bug bites and a few ticks in your hair. Perhaps that's why most investigators are bald or wear hats.

Research starts long before stepping into any investigation. The first step is to understand where you are going, what activity has been seen in the area and what the owners of the properties are in need of. There's a laundry list of questions we ask before we take on any case.

The next step is to ensure you are safe and authorized to do this investigation. Graveyards may be public property but the police should be aware of what you're doing prior to you doing it. Make sure the actual property owners approve, not just the person who requested the case.

Now, the fun stuff. Investigate! Make sure you don't contaminate the environment with perfumes, etc. Have fresh batteries and ensure your equipment is ready for use.

Also, research the history of the location at your local library or historian so you are aware of potential causes of events.

After all of that, review all the data and events prior to discussing the case. Take out the emotions of the investigation and look at the facts. Do they still hold up?

If so, show us what you came up with!
